Apple Propone lo Streaming via HTTP come Standard
Apple alla recente WordWide Developer Conference, ha dichiarato di voler introdurre un nuovo sistema di streaming video standard. Queste novità saranno presenti nel prossimo OS X Snow Leopard e su iPhone 3GS.
Per farlo Apple usa il protocollo HTTP, in questo modo è possibile scavalcare Flash di Adobe, di cui non ne vuole nemmeno sentir parlare ne tantomeno includere nei prossimi sistemi operativi Mac OS X.
Inoltre si può adattare il bitrate del video in tempo reale, in base a quanta banda è disponibile.
“Apple has touted new HTTP Live Streaming features of the iPhone OS 3.0 and the upcoming Snow Leopard version of Mac OS X – and it has submitted the spec to the IETF. Will it be enough to supplant Flash as the de facto standard for delivering live or on-demand streaming online?”
